Host Name

Defines the name of the host computer

Local CM

Defines the host as a local computer (Control-M/Agent computer).

If you select this option, the Host Name and Port fields are disabled.

Windows:

• If the Agent service is running as a specific Log On user, impersonation does not occur.
• If the Agent service is running as the Local System Account, MFT logs in to the OS with the user defined in the Local CM Connection Profile.

To disable this impersonation, add or modify the following parameter in aft_configuarble.properties file:

com.bmc.aft.configurable.disableWinLocalImpersonation=Y

Linux:

• If the Agent is running as specific user account, no impersonation occurs.
• If the Agent is running as root, the Agent checks the permissions of the user defined in the Local CM connection profile before performing file transfers.

To enable full impersonation, add or modify the following parameter in aft_configurable.properties file:

com.bmc.aft.configurable.linux.impersonation.enabled=true

AIX/Solaris: No impersonation

• If the Agent is running as a specific user account, file operations run with the Agent user account.
• If the Agent is running as root, file operations run as root.

OS Type

Determines which platform the host resides. If you are defining a connection profile on a remote Microsoft Windows computer, see Configuring connection details for a remote Windows server.

NOTE:

• If you want to connect with SFTP to a USS file system on Mainframe, you must select UNIX.
• If you want to connect with SFTP to a z/OS file system on Mainframe (via Co:Z), you must select MVS.

Port

Determines the port used to communicate for each host.

Defaults are:

FTP: 21

SFTP: 22

User Name

Defines the username of each host.

If it is a local host on Windows, the domain name must be specified. If it is a remote host on Windows, the domain name might need to be specified if required by the server.

To execute PGP commands, you need to add this user, if the Local CM checkbox is selected, to specific policies in the Local Security Settings window, as described in Adding users to Local Security policies.

Password

Defines the password for each user connection profile

Confirms the password for each user connection profile

Home Directory

Determines the home directory for each host that appears in the File Selection dialog box in the Control-M for MFT properties pane.

Control-M for MFT supports both Name Format 0 and Name Format 1. The syntax of the home directory determines which format is used (OS/400 platforms only).

To retrieve the home directory from the remote server or local computer, click Get Home Directory (This feature is not available for Unisys OS2200).
