Shell Scripts on UNIX

When writing a shell script on an Agent computer, which is run as a Control-M/Sever job, you need to do the following:

• Specify the shell type, as described in Shell types.
• Factor the runtime environment, as described in Runtime environment.
• Use On Statement/Code parameter to interpret script lines, as described in On Statement/Code parameter.

BMC recommends that you run each script manually to validate the script syntax before running the script.
