Configuration parameters

Configuration Management parameters in Control-M for SAP enable you to set values for variables, as described in Configuring Control-M for SAP settings.

The following table describes the parameters for Control-M for SAP.

Parameter

Description

Audit Level

Determines the audit level for the current session.

Valid values are:

  • 0: No additional audit level information to be added to the SAP server
  • 1: Add audit level 1 information to the SAP server
  • 2: Add audit level 2 information to the SAP server
  • 3: Add audit level 3 information to the SAP server

Default: 0

NOTE: Additional audit level information can be viewed in the RZ15 SAP transaction.

Max List Entries

Specifies the maximum number of rows to be produced for a Load list.

Valid values are: 1-1000.

Default: 250

Max Wait for SAP Recovery

Specifies an Executing/Unknown status for Control‑M for SAP jobs running in an SAP system when the connection to the SAP system is lost.

This parameter allows the connection to be repaired without losing the Control-M job.

Valid values are: 0-1500

Default: 0 (minutes). An alert is sent to Control-M/EM when the connection to SAP is lost or reconnected.

If Control-M/Agent, Control-M/EM and Control-M/Server are of version 7.0.00 and later and the value is 0, the job status will be set to Unknown until Control-M/Server times out (2 hours by default) and then the job will fail.

If the value is greater than 0, the job status will remain Executing for the time set by the parameter. If the connection is still lost after this time has elapsed, the job fails and is assigned a status of Disappeared.

Run Copy Mode

Specifies which job should be copied if Copy mode is set without a JOBCOUNT value.

Valid values are:

  • LAST_SCHEDULED: Last job with scheduled status
  • LAST: Last job (any status)
  • FIRST_SCHEDULED: First job with scheduled status
  • FIRST: First job (any status)

Default: LAST_SCHEDULED

Run Org Mode

Specifies which job should be released if Original mode is set without a JOBCOUNT value.

Valid values are:

  • LAST_SCHEDULED: Last job with scheduled status
  • FIRST_SCHEDULED: First job with scheduled status

Default: LAST_SCHEDULED

Output File Name

Defines the name of the Output file.

You can assign a specific prefix to this file name. Valid values are:

  • JOBNAME: as defined in the Control-M/EM job definition
  • FILE NAME: as defined in the Control-M/EM job definition
  • None (default)

Load Balancing Algorithm

Determines which of the following load balancing algorithms is used when the Target Server field in SAP R/3 Job Properties Pane:

  • XAL: Uses performance data collected by XAL based on CPU, memory, and background processes usage
  • SAP: Uses default SAP algorithm

To ensure high performance with the XAL load balancing, verify that Tree Monitor threshold limits for CPU and memory are configured correctly.

Default: SAP

Mixed Case Job Name (External Jobs)

Enables mixed case job name for External Mode jobs (for job monitoring purposes only)

Valid values are:

  • Cleared: No (Upper case only) (Default)
  • Selected: Yes (Mixed case permitted)

NOTE: When this parameter is cleared, searches only find job names with all uppercase characters, regardless of how information was entered. When this parameter is selected, all searches are run exactly specific to the character information entered.

Applicable for the External job mode only.

Mixed Case Job Name (Other CTM Jobs)

Enables mixed case job name for other Control-M jobs (for creating or submitting jobs)

Applicable for Create, Copy, and Original job modes.

Enable RFC library trace

These log files record the communication and interaction between Control‑M for SAP and your SAP system, using the RFC library.

The trace log files are located in the Control-M/Agent proclog directory.
